Yoga for Mindful Emotional Intelligence (YOMEI) offers a unique and engaging approach to the average Emotional Intelligence training. With the incorporation of mindful practices and yoga instruction to enhance participants' self-awareness, participants are directly engaged and immersed in the exploration of their and others' Emotional Intelligence skills.

Yoga
With regular yoga practice, the natural skills of attention, awareness, and concentration are balanced. Yoga is mindful movement that improves self-awareness.

Mindfulness is a mental state achieved by focusing on the present moment while acknowledging and accepting feelings, thoughts, and emotions in a non-judgmental way.
Emotional Intelligence
Emotional Intelligence is the ability to think constructively and act wisely. It's key components include: Interpersonal, Intrapersonal, and leadership skills, as well as self-management and self-awareness.

How Our Services Help
The YOMEI workshop was developed by research. Dr. Aprile Atwater, the creator of YOMEI. Dr. Atwater completed her doctoral studies with a focus on Emotional Intelligence. Her passion for Yoga and Mindfulness led to an interest in further research on the benefits of including the two practices in Emotional intelligence training. This research-led, evidence-based workshop helps businesses, organizations, educators, and leaders develop their Emotional Intelligence skills through a whole-person approach.
YOGA
Yoga is a mindful movement practice that includes stretching, strengthening, and breathing exercises. With regular practice the natural skills of attention awareness, and concentration are balanced.

About the Founder
Aprile Giordano-Atwater, founder and creator of YOMEI, took multiple levels of education to create YOMEI. Because of her passion for whole-body wellness, Aprile found a way to incorporate her expertise in emotional intelligence (EI) with her passion for yoga and mindfulness.

It is Aprile's goal to change the lives of each participant in her research-derived workshops through the implementation of Yoga (movement for wellness), Mindfulness (being present in the moment), and Emotional Intelligence awareness (the ability to think constructively and act wisely).
