The evidence-based, research-backed workshops intend to provide strategies for everyday mindful practices while incorporating EI skills to enhance professional and personal relationships. Each workshop is tailored to the specific audience based on the organization and communities they serve. Stress reduction, inner peace, happiness, and the ability to communicate effectively are just some of the many advantages of completing these workshops.

Objectives for EI

  • Explore and identify current EI skills and areas for improvement

  • Apply reflective & constructive thinking in daily work /life situations

  • Develop a personal toolbox of strategies to respond to situations using your EI

EI Outcomes

  • Learn and model strategies to develop leadership skills, behaviors, and actions with the use of identified EI skills

  • Understand that EI skills are learned abilities to think reflectively and constructively towards appropriate behaviors for success

  • Apply learned strategies through reflective practices that lead to constructive decisions and reduction of emotional reactivity

Objectives for Mindfulness

  • Practice mindfulness through breathing techniques

  • Create habits for reflective thinking and behaviors

  • Develop a habit of being in the present moment through daily life and work routines

Mindfulness Outcomes

​

  • Learn the 16-second mindfulness technique, BMH scan, and other mindful practices to enhance quality of life

  • Understand the emotional and mental health benefits of regular mindful practices

  • Apply mindfulness techniques to everyday event to manage emotional reactiveness

Emotional Intelligence Assessment

All participants are responsible for completing the Emotional Skills Assessment Process (ESAP® ), which is the Emotional Intelligence assessment used for the workshops. The ESAP® is a positive self-assessment identifying current strengths and target areas for focused skill development and/or change of problematic behaviors. The assessment must be completed prior to day one of the workshops. Instructions will be shared via email after participants sign up for the workshop.

 Pre-Workshop Participants Will

​

  • Purchase journaling book or composition notebook

  • Keep an open mind regarding meditation, mindfulness, and emotional intelligence

  • Bring own yoga mat and any props needed

  • Read workshop research information provided to come to the workshop with an understanding of mindful practices, EI, and yoga

  • Complete EI assessment prior to workshop day 1

Workshop Sessions

 

The first workshop session will introduce participants to Emotional Intelligence and Mindfulness. Instructor will assess a participant's level of Yoga ability and understanding.

Remaining Workshops Include a brief review of the previous workshop, 35-40 minutes committed to emotional intelligence training via activity and discussion, 10-12 minutes of guided mindfulness meditation practices that are practical for daily use in all environments, closing with a 45-minute yoga class. Each workshop will assign a reflective journaling prompt as part of the mindfulness activity.

The EI portion of the workshop will focus on the 4 dimensions and 10 skills of EI

  • Interpersonal: Assertion, Anger Control/Management, Anxiety Control/Management

  • Leadership: Comfort, Empathy, Decision Making

  • Intrapersonal: Self-esteem, Stress-Management, Change Orientation

  • Self-Management: Time-management, Drive-strength, Commitment ethic

Mindfulness portion of the course will focus on

  • The 16-second meditation practice

  • Body-Mind-Heart (BMH) Meditation

  • Mindful Breathing for EI

  • 10-minute Body ScanPractical, everyday mindful techniques and resources

 

Yoga portion of the course will include

  • Alignment instruction

  • Vinyasa/Hatha Flow

  • Themed to each session topic

Post Workshop

 

Each participant will be invited to schedule a follow-up phone call, virtual conference, or in-person meeting to identify skill improvements after use of the practices implemented in the workshop. It is encouraged that participants retake the ESAP prior to the follow up to compare findings from their original assessment (this is not required).
